Electrical Technician
We are looking for an Electrical Technician to join our team at Guernsey Ports.
This an exciting opportunity to work on a vast array of specialist assets unique to Guernsey Ports, including security scanners, luggage conveyors, aids to navigation (air and sea), LoLo cranes, RoRo ramps, HVAC equipment, power and specialist lighting (including HV), pumps, compressors and generators.
A key part of the role is to ensure specialist M&E equipment is able to keep pace with business requirements – operating reliably, efficiently and effectively so that Guernsey Airport, Alderney Airport, St Peter Port Harbour and St Sampson Harbour remain open, safe and secure.
The post can be appointed at three different grades with the role and salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Port and Secure Area Harbour Attendant - PSE Grade C
The post holder is a key member of the port operational team and will be required to uphold Port and Secure Area security, safety and operational principles and policies for the sage and efficient operation of the Guernsey ports. The post covers all Port Operations (24hrs) seven days a week, to include bank holidays and weekends if required.
The successful applicant will report to the Harbour Bosun (or deputy) and the Head of Port Operations who is the line manager. The Duty Harbourmaster will have operational authority over all Port and Secure Area Harbour Attendants to ensure the safe, secure and effective running of the port.
Main duties and responsibilities include, controlling access to the secure area at vehicle security points, conduct security screening of passengers, to monitor all areas of the harbour including public areas and enforce port operational procedures and policies and applicable legislation.

Crane Operator - PSE Grade D
The States of Guernsey are looking for a Crane Operator to join the team at Guernsey Harbours.
You will be required to operate the crane, ramp, gangway and associated equipment at Guernsey Harbours. To take responsibility for maintenance, upkeep and housekeeping of all such equipment. To comply with Health and Safety procedures, Legislation, to ensure that all equipment is operated in a safe manner and to report any defects, incidents and accidents promptly.
You will report to the Harbour Master/Assistant Harbour Master. You will liaise with Harbour management and other Harbour staff, shipping companies and members of the general public.

Seasonal Marina Attendant - PSE Grade B (£437.89 - £452.73 per week)
We are looking for an experienced and competent small boat handler to join our Harbours team at St Peter Port Harbour. You will provide seasonal support to all operational aspects of Guernsey Ports' marine leisure users including visitor moorings, cruise ship tenders and all marinas.
You will be assigning berths, collecting marina fees from vessels, inspecting facilities and communicating harbour rules and regulations.
